Unscathed
She used to sing at parties where
Potbellied men with some gold clad women
Sat clueless, staring at her and her glaring tattoo
One that Ishaan had done on her
With a humongous needle on her left arm
To teach her a lesson
She was at one such party when
A guy with a goatee
Approached her with a drink and said
“I can give you back your life”
Life; That’s the word she hadn’t heard
For quite sometime now
She didn’t know that Ishaan was around
Watching her when she left the hotel
With the guy and returned home late
After some real life on the bed
Unlike the ones Ishaan preferred
She came back to see him furious
Trying to bring out the devil she knew in him
Then came the hot needle. Her screams followed
Then the fumes and the blood
It read “Live the life I want you to”
Those men and women still stare at her tattoo
That’s what people think, tattoo it is
She keeps singing without even
Noticing their eyes on what she lost
She sings on the song of life
From her soul, the soul
The needle couldn’t touch
And Ishaan couldn’t scar
